How long does a fitting take? +
A full boot fitting typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours. This is intentional — a proper fitting cannot be rushed. Jeff takes the time to do a thorough consultation, shell fit check, footbed molding (if needed), and any required modifications before you leave.
Do I need to buy new boots? +
Not necessarily. If your existing boots have the right shell fit and volume for your foot, modifications and footbeds may be all you need. Jeff will give you an honest assessment — if your current boots aren't right for you, he'll tell you why before recommending alternatives.
What does a fitting cost? +
Pricing varies by service and is discussed at the time of booking. Boot fitting fees, custom footbed costs, and modification charges are all quoted upfront — no surprises. Jeff believes in transparent pricing and will never recommend services you don't need.
I've had bad fittings before. What's different here? +
Most retail boot fittings skip the critical shell check, rush the process, and prioritize margin over fit. At Boot & Sole, the shell is evaluated liner-out on your bare foot — the industry gold standard. Every client gets Jeff personally, for as long as it takes.
Can you work on boots I bought elsewhere? +
Absolutely. Bring in any brand of ski boot and Jeff can assess fit issues, perform shell modifications, create custom footbeds, mold liners, and handle alignment work — regardless of where you bought them or how old they are.
Is Boot & Sole right for beginners? +
Yes — beginners arguably benefit most from a proper fitting. Starting with well-fitted boots means developing proper technique from day one, with no bad habits formed from compensating for painful footwear. Jeff works with all ability levels, from first-timers to expert racers.
What if the boots don't feel right after my ski day? +
Come back. Every fitting includes follow-up support. After your first ski day, Jeff will make any necessary fine-tune adjustments at no additional charge. The goal is a great season, not just a great fitting appointment.

"Jeff spent nearly two hours with me. He wasn't trying to sell me the most expensive boot — he was trying to find the right boot. The difference in control is night and day."
